IMA , Parent body of Medical fraternity is doing yeoman services in all fields ,for betterment of the community by implementing various National health programmes in addition to working for the Unity ,Solidarity & Dignity of Medical Profession. It is promoting brotherhood amongst the fraternity by coming to their rescue for time to time , may it be assault on doctors or resisting some unwanted law or Act- hindering smooth working of our community.

The implementation of "The Punjab Protection of Medicare Service Persons & Medicare Service Institutions Act 2008" is ample proof of the Unity & role rendered by Jalandhar Branch in achieving this with the help of our very own Dr.DS Cheema,Advisor to CM Punjab.

Public friendly agendas of adopting a slum area of the city along with a village for cent percent coverage in context to National health programmes & Rural health mission are at the top of our list. The medical community too has a role to tackle the menace of growing Enviromental Pollution - a cell to work in this direction has been created for the first time in IMA Jalandhar. Disaster Management Cell to help the administration ,is ever ready for any eventuality. IMA emergency helpline Numbers on highways linking jalandhar are on the cards.

A request to the goverment for piece of Land for IMA house along with Old Age home is already put forward.Health Awareness Committe shall be marking all health days to spread awareness about different diseases along with H1N1 Pandemic.

A NRI cell to look after the medical difficulties of NRI brethren from this rich Doaba belt hence promoting Health Tourism shall be of great benefit. This IMA website shall be more user friendly for our community and educated masses, along with Punjabis settled abroad.

IMA Hqrs. has always stressed on enhanced communications and efforts shall be initiated in this direction, with the help of Newsletter of the branch.
